Mafia Romance
I will start this post with the romantic stories of Italian, and Russian mobsters, and cartels that are circulating everywhere. It is a widely read topic, as it contains the necessary ingredients to make your heart beat fast.
One, you will find a lot of blood, cruelty, and abuse. Before you decide to read such a book, review the author's notes on the topics being covered. It would also be prudent for you to look up the term Dark Romance and read what it is about. Books that are listed as such will include one or more topics that may not be for you. You have been warned
Two, if the story is well written, even the most evil of characters will be your favourite (all of us have a dark soul and enjoy suffering, sometimes, especially in a love story). These novels will mostly go to the dark side, labelling them as dark romances due to the abusive, and cruel interaction between the main characters.
And three, in novels that definitely grab your interest, always expect the heroine to suffer at the hands of the main character. Without this ingredient, it is difficult for a story to progress. Since the suffering must be real, evoking emotions in the readers.
But let's move on to my first recommendation.

When I started reading this book, I couldn't help but think of the Scarface film, with Al Pacino and Michel Pfeiffer. I loved that film, and knowing that the plot of this novel would be similar, I bought the book.
I'm not disappointed.
Casey and Reyes' story is a passionate one. Reyes, being a very powerful gangster, put his lustful eyes on her. Pulling her right into his arms, unable to escape.
The context in which the plot is designed is fantastic since it involves a Latin environment, where large estates and life far from the city is the main setting.
The chemistry between the two characters can be felt, and the dark and possessive way in which Reyes behaves with Casey is exquisite. The proportions are perfect to want to be in their shoes.
This is the first book of four. Queen's Move, Born a Queen, and The Red Queen. All delivering the same quality and levels of excitement that will keep you reading. I liked this novel, as there is a lot to learn about playing your cards right, and the ability of the main characters to develop the necessary connections, a lot of intrigues, and tension.
Power is everything, and as long as they know how to wield it, they will be untouchable. This of course goes hand in hand with the protagonist's effort to adjust to her reality, apart from balancing her past life with the present.

At first, I did not know where to catalogue this book, but I decided on mafia romance, since it is a criminal organization, despite the fact that their main purpose was to rid the city of scum. But anyway, let's start:
Sexy, is what came to my mind when I saw the cover of the book with the UK flag in the background. The author managed to develop the characters properly and combine their personalities so that the story was credible and exited.
This was not the typical dark romance, in which the protagonist is slapped from all sides, and in the end, she has no choice but to succumb to the obsessive and compulsive male lead. Not in this case, her character is whimsical but intense. And coming from a wealthy family, you can imagine.

Of course, it has themes that are not for everyone, but as in all dark novels, you will have to either put up with it or choose another title.
